Know Before
You Go.

Tidal gives you a personalized daily surf forecast for your home break — swell, wind, tide, and a simple 1–5 paddle-out score so you know exactly when to show up.

How it works

Three steps to smarter sessions

No more refreshing four different forecast apps. Tidal does the reading so you don't have to.

Step one

Tell us your break

Pick your local spot from thousands of named breaks worldwide. Tidal calibrates every forecast to that beach's unique orientation, bathymetry, and local conditions.

Step two

We read the ocean

Every morning we pull live swell height, period, and direction, plus wind speed and direction, tidal phase, and any local swell interference — all crunched for your spot.

Step three

You get your score

A daily 1–5 paddle-out rating lands in your app each morning: 1 is flat or blown out, 5 is call in sick. No jargon — just a clear answer to "should I surf today?"

Breaks we cover

From backdoor barrels to beachbreaks

We're starting with thousands of spots. Your break is probably already on the list.

Hawaii, USA

Pipeline

The world's most famous reef break. Thick, heavy, and unforgiving.

Bali, Indonesia

Uluwatu

Limestone cliffs, crystal water, and long lefts that seem to go forever.

Gold Coast, Australia

Snapper Rocks

The Superbank's crown jewel — the longest right-hander on the planet.

Peniche, Portugal

Supertubos

Europe's heaviest beachbreak. Atlantic swells detonate on sandbar perfection.

The Paddle-Out Score

One number.
Everything you need.

We turn hours of marine data into a single, honest daily rating for your break.

  • Swell size & period — raw ocean energy in plain language
  • Wind speed & direction — offshore, onshore, or crosswind
  • Tidal phase — rising, falling, high or low for your spot
  • 1–5 daily score — a simple verdict, updated every morning

FAQ

Got questions?

The answers to the stuff you're probably wondering.

Yes — Tidal is completely free for everyone who joins early access. You'll get full access to daily forecasts at no cost. Premium features (like multi-break tracking, historical data, or advanced alerts) may come later, but your founding-surfer tier stays free, forever.
We're starting with thousands of named breaks worldwide — from world-famous reef breaks to little-known beachbreaks. If your spot isn't on the list at launch, you can submit a request and we'll prioritize adding it. We want to cover every surfable break on the planet.
We use the same marine data sources as professional surf forecasters — global wave models, buoy networks, and high-resolution wind grids. What makes Tidal different is that we tune each forecast to your specific break's orientation, bathymetry, and local wind patterns, so the score actually reflects what you'll find when you paddle out.
We're targeting a launch later this year. Everyone on the early-access list gets notified the moment the app goes live — and they get in first, for free. Sign up above and you won't miss it.
